INTEGRATED DATA ANALYSIS
Based on Section 8/A(3) of the Act on National Security Services, NIK prepares information reports and background and risk analyses related to national security, terrorist threat and criminal situation in Hungary for the cooperating organisations with a view to facilitating the lawful, professional and effective performance of tasks falling within their competence. It also carries out strategic criminal analysis.
It reveals any parallelisms of data processing by the relevant cooperating organisations, with particularly regard to concurrent secret information gathering and investigations conducted by several cooperating organisations in relation to the same offence, person or other subject matter, and informs the relevant cooperating organisations to that effect for the purposes of the necessary coordination.
It monitors the activities of criminal and terrorist organisations and organised criminal and terrorist groups, and notifies the competent organisation of the information it acquires.
