Yes, the NIK maintains bilateral cooperation with several foreign partners and is a member of certain multilateral professional forums.
What is the legal mandate for the NIK's international cooperation?
Act CXXV of 1995 on National Security Services (Nbtv.) § 28 (4): the national security services may cooperate with foreign intelligence services on the basis of international agreements and commitments. Furthermore, the National Information Centre may, with the approval of the Minister responsible for the management of civilian national security services, maintain direct contact with international organisations, police, public administration, law enforcement, national security or other bodies of a foreign state established to promote these purposes.
