HYBRID OPERATIONS
Hybrid operations conducted below the threshold of armed conflict, in the so-called ’grey zone’, are playing an increasingly prominent role in shaping the global security environment and, accordingly, are becoming an increasingly salient element of international political discourse.
In Hungary, the National Information Centre is the primary organisation responsible for tasks related to countering hybrid threats. Its activities focus on developing conceptual frameworks and strategies, conducting risk assessments, representing Hungary in the relevant bodies of international organisations and raising awareness.
As an information fusion centre, the National Information Centre has a unique capability within the Hungarian national security community to analyse and assess, in a horizontal and cross-cutting manner, hybrid threats directed against Hungary and, more broadly, against our allies. In doing so, it is able to provide decision-makers with strategically relevant expert support.
